EXPERIENCED WORKSHOP CONTROLLER
Location: Walsall
Salary: Up to £45,000 Depending on Experience
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday - Friday - 08:30 - 17:00

THE ROLE
As an Experienced Workshop Controller, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day workflow of the bodyshop, ensuring technicians are effectively utilised and vehicles progress through the repair process efficiently.

Working closely with the Bodyshop Manager, VDA/Estimators and workshop teams, you'll help maintain productivity, quality and customer satisfaction while ensuring repairs are completed within agreed timescales.

Key Responsibilities:
andmiddot;Coordinate daily workshop activity and allocate work to technicians based on skills, capacity and priority
andmiddot;Monitor vehicle progress, repair times, productivity and technician utilisation
andmiddot;Work closely with VDA/Estimators, Panel, MET and Paint Technicians to maintain efficient workflow
andmiddot;Monitor repair quality and ensure vehicles are completed to manufacturer and industry standards
andmiddot;Identify delays, additional work and production issues, taking appropriate action to keep vehicles moving through the workshop
andmiddot;Support the team with technical and operational queries, ensuring efficient communication across the bodyshop
andmiddot;Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, housekeeping and compliance throughout the workshop
andmiddot;Provide regular updates on vehicle progress and help deliver a high level of customer satisfaction

ABOUT YOU
We're looking for an experienced and organised Workshop Controller with a strong understanding of accident repair operations and the ability to keep a busy workshop running efficiently.

andmiddot;Proven experience within an automotive accident repair bodyshop
andmiddot;Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Workshop Manager or Senior Technician advantageous
andmiddot;Strong understanding of Panel, MET and Paint repair processes
andmiddot;Excellent knowledge of workshop workflow, productivity and repair processes
andmiddot;Confident managing workloads, priorities and technician utilisation
andmiddot;Strong communication and team leadership skills
andmiddot;Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
andmiddot;Quality-focused with a strong understanding of Health & Safety and compliance
andmiddot;Able to remain calm and effective within a fast-paced production environment
andmiddot;Professional, motivated and customer-focused approach
andmiddot;IMI and/or ATA qualifications advantageous
andmiddot;Full UK Driving Licence preferred
