Senior Mechanical Engineer - Building Services
Job Description
A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking an Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing building services team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to work on technically challenging projects across sectors including healthcare, education, residential, commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical and public sector developments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions, supporting project delivery, mentoring junior engineers and developing strong client relationships within a collaborative engineering environment.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will:
andmiddot;Lead the mechanical engineering design delivery on selected projects
andmiddot;Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
andmiddot;Manage mechanical design elements from concept through to completion
andmiddot;Produce technical drawings, specifications and design documentation
andmiddot;Carry out engineering calculations and support technical reviews
andmiddot;Attend client meetings and contribute to presentations
andmiddot;Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers
andmiddot;Maintain and improve technical standards within the engineering team
andmiddot;Contribute to innovative, sustainable and low-carbon engineering solutions
Requirements:
andmiddot;A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent qualification
andmiddot;Minimum 3-4 years' post-qualification experience within building services design
andmiddot;Strong experience delivering mechanical engineering solutions within a consultancy environment
andmiddot;Knowledge of relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidance
andmiddot;Experience using design software such as:
oRevit
oRelux / Dialux
oAmtech or equivalent engineering software
andmiddot;Understanding of sustainable design principles and renewable technologies
andmiddot;Experience working with BREEAM requirements would be advantageous
andmiddot;Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical building services design
Desirable
andmiddot;Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership
andmiddot;CIBSE / IMechE membership
andmiddot;Experience working on complex projects across multiple sectors
andmiddot;Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers
andmiddot;Understanding of electrical engineering principles would be beneficial
