Are you a caring, patient and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker or Care Worker looking for a rewarding role supporting a student with complex additional needs?

A welcoming specialist SEN school set in the beautiful Cheshire countryside are searching for a SEN Teaching Assistant who will provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the student's school day, building a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil while working closely with teachers, therapists and the wider support team.

The Role

You will:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the pupil's school day.
  • Build a strong, positive and trusting relationship with the student.
  • Support a student with multiple and complex additional needs.
  • Assist with personal care, hygiene and daily living routines where required.
  • Support communication, sensory needs, emotional wellbeing and independence.
  • Encourage engagement in learning and school activities at the pupil's own pace.
  • Follow individual support plans, EHCP outcomes and guidance from teaching and therapy staff.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide consistent, person-centred support.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing and positive school experience.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting children with complex or multiple additional needs.
  • Ideally have previous experience within a specialist SEN school, residential home or care setting.
  • Be confident providing personal care and supporting daily routines.
  • Be patient, warm, observant and emotionally resilient.
  • Understand the importance of consistency and relationship building.
  • Communicate effectively and work cohesively as part of a wider team.
  • Be committed to helping a student develop confidence, independence and wellbeing.
  • A Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Health & Social Care or related qualification is desirable.
