Production Operative / Machine Operative

Location: Dronfield
Pay: £13.15 per hour (Days) / £14.18 per hour (Nights)
Hours: Monday to Thursday - rotating days and nights
Job Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are recruiting for a Production Operative / Machine Operative to join a well-established manufacturing company in Dronfield on a long-term basis.

This is a hands-on industrial role suited to someone with a background in production, manufacturing, machine operating, mechanical work or engineering.

The role involves working around machinery, stripping down and cleaning production equipment and carrying out general manufacturing duties. The environment can be dusty, dirty and physically demanding, so you must be comfortable with practical, hands-on work.

Duties
  • Stripping down and dismantling machinery and production equipment

  • Cleaning and preparing machinery

  • Operating production machinery

  • Loading and unloading materials

  • Using hand tools where required

  • Carrying out basic machinery and quality checks

  • Assisting with general production and manufacturing duties

  • Reporting machinery or production issues

  • Following health and safety procedures

  • Keeping the work area clean and safe

Requirements

Previous experience in production, manufacturing, machine operating, mechanical work or engineering is preferred.

You should be:

  • Mechanically minded and practical

  • Comfortable working around machinery

  • Comfortable working in a dusty and dirty environment

  • Confident using basic hand tools

  • Physically fit for a hands-on role

  • Reliable with good attendance and timekeeping

  • Willing to work rotating day and night shifts

Previous experience as a Production Operative, Machine Operative, Machine Operator, Manufacturing Operative, Mechanical Operative or Engineering Operative would be advantageous.

Shifts & Pay

Days: 05:45 - 17:45
£13.15 per hour - paid for 49 hours per week

Nights: 17:45 - 05:45
£14.18 per hour - paid for 57 hours per week

Weekly rotation between days and nights, Monday to Thursday.
