Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Job Description
An Assistant Quantity Surveyor is required to support the commercial delivery of lifecycle replacement and variation projects across a varied portfolio in Gloucestershire.
Working closely with the Commercial Manager, you'll support procurement, contract administration, cost control and commercial reporting across multiple refurbishment and fit-out schemes.

The Role
As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll:
- Support the commercial delivery of lifecycle replacement and variation schemes.
- Assist with procurement, project validation, feasibility assessments and scope development.
- Prepare and coordinate tender and contract documentation for project partners.
- Administer contracts and support the valuation and assessment of variations.
- Assist with cost control, forecasting, commercial reporting and client invoicing.
- Maintain accurate project and commercial records across multiple schemes.
- Support commercial audits, post-project reviews and continuous improvement.
- Build effective relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and project stakeholders.
To be successful as the Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll have:
- A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a construction discipline.
- Previous Quantity Surveying experience within a consultancy, contractor or client organisation.
- Experience delivering refurbishment, fit-out or similar construction projects.
- Working knowledge of JCT contracts and contract administration.
- Knowledge of construction methods, Building Regulations and health and safety requirements.
- Strong numerical, analytical and Microsoft Excel skills with excellent attention to detail.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
- Chartered status or progression towards RICS, CIOB, APM or CIBSE would be advantageous.
- £35,000 annual salary.
- £4,000 annual car allowance.
- 20% annual performance-related bonus.
